So what do you think of Kevin Spacey's comments?
Spacey slams 'unfair'
BBC talent shows
The Hollywood star, who is the artistic director at London's Old Vic,
said the series of Saturday-night talent shows featuring Andrew Lloyd
Webber, which began with How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? in
2006, were "crossing the line" and "unfair".
...
In an interview earlier this month, Lloyd Webber said: "The real
reason we're doing Oliver! is that the BBC can't let me do one of my
own shows this time because of editorial policy.
"But I wasn't
hurt by the criticism from other people. I suppose we just observe with
interest that Sir Trevor [Nunn] has just cast Darius from Pop Idol as
Rhett Butler in his new production of Gone with the Wind.
"I find
that very intriguing. A little baptism has happened here, I think. Of
course, he claims he had never heard of Darius prior to the audition."
Think his suggestion about bringing back Play for Today is not a bad one
after all we don't want the BBC stopping celebrating MT?
