I've been listening in too.
Me and the dogs were lying on the settee - lights off - and it's been beautiful. Definitely relaxing after the stress of still not being able to buy my concert tickets!
Lang Lang was superb. I didnt realise that the orchestra played with him - I dont know why but I thought it was just him at the piano. He is such a gifted pianist - you could tell he was so into the music. I dont normally like Rachmaninov - but I was totally won over.
Jonathan was wonderful as always. I thought his rendition of The Godfather was very beautiful - and My Own True Love was fabulous - and that last note!
I enjoyed Blake too - I have warmed to them over the months. I thought they sang both songs lovely.
The Great Escape was brilliant - and I've now got the rest of the concert coming through my computer speakers - a perfect Friday evening.
I would have liked to have heard the whole broadcast as it happened - with Simon Bates etc - to get the atmosphere - but still - I'm not complaining - I got to hear Jonathan which is wonderful. And all the music of the evening has been excellent.
love Molly xx
