I usually come on here about the same time every evening and i have noticed that there always seems to be between 10-15 guests online. Dont know if anyone else has noticed. Wouldnt it be great if they all signed up on here officially.

Quite often at 5.30am there are up to 25 guests!! Sometimes I have to admit one of them might be me as I don't often have time to sign in during the day but just want to browse but as you say, I hope some of those guests don't think we are too mad and want to join in!!

Well, that's just it Marian ..................... are the 'guests' members who have not signed in and are just browsing or are they really 'guests' just having a look around ??? 

I'm not sure about the whys and wherefores, but usually when I come to this site I am logged on as a member automatically, but about once a week I realise when I come to post, that I have to 'officially log on' and re-enter my name and password..  So on those occasions I appear as a guest until I decide to post. It would be nice to build up the membership though. 

Afraid I'm one of those members who prefers to have a quick 'browse' as a 'Guest' rather than logging in.   I pop in and out of here frequently and it's handy just to have a browse and catch up..

I suppose the only alternative is to make each section fully visible only by 'signing in' but to be honest I'm not a great fan of this as I think it takes away that 'browsing' choice which casual visitors may wish to use.  I notice the 'introduction' section has now been changed to this format and look at the date of the last time when anyone posted!!! 

 Most of the time, it signs me in automatically. However, if I stays as a guest, I won't be able check the posts I haven't read.

Since I was bombarded with 100s of new email notices, I have given up getting the email notice. And so, I check 'post you haven't read' to see any update since I last posted and also a thread i have not checked. That's the benefit of signing in

I have just discovered who one of these 'guests' are - someone from another site who has taken photos from one of our threads and has posted them in the gallery on their site as theirs and has not acknowledged where they have been taken from - no link or permission.

I have e-mailed to explain that it is common courtesy to provide a link back to this site as we always do here. If asked beforehand, I would have said yes they could use them provided a link had been made.

Quite right Marian - with or without permission a link should be given regardless, to ensure no copyright issues arise - that's why the 'professional' ones like LFI, Wireimage, jam'd, WENN etc have watermarks all over them

If people can log in I think it would be good for all concerned - then at least we kinda know if there are a lot of 'unknowns' out there? I use the link to the unreads as my bookmark so if it wants me to log in it comes up automatically??

Blimey i just spotted 150. Wouldnt it be great if they all became members.

This was the last one I saw - didn't realise I had right clicked and saved it until I started to copy something else - and amazing number of guests.
