    A Question About Replying

Just a quickie about different ways to reply to a post Smile

I notice there are three ways, the Reply icon on the actual post, the In Reply To in words on the blue strip at the top of the post, and the Quick Reply thingy.

Am I right in thinking In Reply To is when you want to include a quote......Reply is just an ordinary one...and Quick Reply is one without smilies?

Sorry if I haven't worded that very clearly......I know what I mean anyhoos! LOL

    Re: A Question About Replying

Well If you hit reply thats in the top of the message you want to quote. It gives you the quote option :)

Quick reply brings up a much smaller box in which you reply, I think it still allows smileys though ?? Im sure I've used them, And i dont actually think its any quicker haha, It just doesnt bring the previous message above the box your replying in :) So your unable to quote in it

If you click on 'in reply to' It will take to the message above that,Which is the one the message has been replied to Tongue Tied

So for arguments sake, If you click on 'reply to' in this message. It will take yopu to your original message

And yes there is no doubt numerous easier ways to expalin what i just have, I just dont know em LOL

Re: A Question About Replying options

It doesn't look like 'In Reply To' option works to me. never bothered to try until now.Indifferent

The only difference between 'reply' and 'quick reply' is as jules says, 'reply' gives you an option to quote the one you are clicking.

Even iff you don't need to quote, you can still click 'reply' on the post.  Otherwise, they don't make any difference for the speed. When you don't quote, it doesn't matter which posts you reply to. The only thing it does is that it copies the subject. You could manually change the subject. Subsequently, if people click the reply on your post, everybody start putting that subject you created. Let's see how it does. I will change the subjectWink and try replying to my post to see what happens.
