    Sussex Life

Apparently Jonathan is in the June edition of this, singing the praises of Bognor Regis Big Smile

    Sussex Life

Nothing online as yet, but hopefully there's someone in that neck of the woods who can get hold of a copy Big Smile

I have asked my boyfriend Raymond if he would ask his cousin who lives in the Sussex area to get me a copy of the magazine.  Hope he remembers.

    Re: Sussex Life

Managed to pick up a copy of Sussex Life in W. H. Smiths in my home town in Surrey.  Sorry do not have a scanner so will type it up.

The article is entitled: The Future Looks Bright For Bognor.

The part of the article with Jonathan in is Famous Fans of Bognor.

    Jonathan’s write up:

Former member of the operatic group G4, Jonathan Ansell is now a successful solo artist and the youngest tenor to top the classical charts.  “I lived in Bognor until I was 18 and my parents still live there, just off the pier,” he says.

“I still have a massive affinity with the town and take every opportunity to visit.  I would love to see some investment in the pier.  If they leave it to fall apart like Brighton it will be a massive shame.  I think Bognor will lose a lot of its identity and I would find that very upsetting>”

Small picture of Jonathan in his dark grey suit and blue shirt/tie.  Hair quite short.  Think it is the picture that Shalit Global had on their site of him.

    Love Shelley xx

Thanks Shelley -nice article there Bognor sounds lovely Smile.

If it's that pic from the Act Three photo shoot that is on the SG site I really don't like that pic at all -not one of G4's best shoots and not a great pic of Jonathan in my opinion  ..

Thanks Shelley and hope they do manage to do the pier up, its is sad when they are left to deteriorate and its always hard to accept that something you grew up with is no longer there.  Wonder if they could get help from the lottery fund.  There was a programme on TV the other week about Jim Davidson literally spending hundreds of thousand of his own money trying to rescue a pier, who's name escapes me.   In the end he couldn't give any more and no one else would help so it was all a waste of money - such a shame.

I don't know anyone who likes that pic of jonathan so why on earth JS keeps it on his site is beyond me, its just not him as he is.

We were in Bognor a couple of summers ago and used to walk along the front at night before turning in.The Pier was quite beautiful at night, when you saw just the outline and heard the sea breaking against it.

But in daylight it was a very sorry sight.....surely some money could be spent on restoring it when you think of what is spent on other things?Sad

Totally agree about that pic Mo -i've posted loads about wishing it would be changed in the last year on the various forums ..it's a poor pic of Jonathan -was part of a series of G4 pics that were not that great ..and now Jonathan has gone solo SG have a gallery of lovely new pics to choose from -that pic needs changed.Smile

Must be so sad for the locals watching and knowing their pier needs repaired or it will be gone Sad.

Never knew that about JD -how generous of him and so sad his efforts were for nothing. Sad
