That is very good to see - thank you Jonfan. Good on Classic fm for starting so early and giving plenty of time for the GBP to book their tickets. As more and more details come out about this tour, I am sure the tickets will sell well.

A full supporting cast? Must be The Carl Rosa Company I reckon. Love the idea. It sounds as though we will get to hear some of these great arias sung 'in situ' so to speak. It will bring them alive and give a true flavour of the operas they are taken from.

Trust Jonathan to come up with a new approach for the concerts! Can't wait now!Big Smile

Wonder if this means ClassicFM are sponsoring the event?   Also I do wish Flying Music would correct the typos on their tour dates page Confused as this is the link on the CFM site

Interesting Marian -do you think the arias will be performed in costume then? -sounds brilliant if thats the case Big Smile

If there is going to be a full cast and beautiful costumes etc ..this is exactly the type of thing that Jonathan needs to get out and about telling music fans about .. what they can expect to hear and see.It all add's up to more sales.. people just need to be told Smile .Great to see Classic fm supporting the tour -hopefully there will be some radio promotion also over the summer.Smile

Thanks Jonfan and Dilog - great to see the promotion on Classic FM. Yes

It sounds like you are right Marian - and that Opera company are going to be involved - and how wonderful that there is going to be a full orchestra.

And to hear/see the songs performed as how they appear in the operas (in costume) would be fabulous! Fingers crossed!

Hopefully they will get fuller details out to the GBP at large once promotion starts in earnest - that should help sell lots of tickets!

Sounds a fantastic concert for anyone - Jonathan fans and anyone who loves good music and a proper stage show.

    Love Molly xx

Brilliant news! Big Smile  So pleased ClassicFM seem to be well and truly on board for this one!   Will be interesting to see how further promotional opportunities unfold over the coming months.

I do think though that as this stage show appears to be something totally different and 'new', not only to us but to the GBP as a whole, that they do need to get some ideas across of what it will contain, further to hints about the arias, the orchestra etc etc.     They need to really 'sell' the whole idea and make people interested enough to want to part with their money - there is so much competition around at the moment that they need to make sure that this is the one which really appeals.   Hopefully this will happen in the next couple of months.

From our point of view as Jon fans anyway and already well and truly sold on the idea in its basic form, it's beginning to sound more and more exciting as time goes on.Big Smile

Well exactly Norma this sounds like it's going to be a stylish show and a refreshing new format and people just need to be told Smile. -if there are to be beautiful costumes and a full supporting cast joining Jonathan in performing these arias -thats a big selling point and needs to be heavily promoted by Jonathan.Smile I've talked about the poster in other threads -i'd like to see more clarity in the poster about what people can expect from the evening maybe a photo of Jonathan and the cast in full dress would clarify that the buyers can expect beautiful costumes and something new and refreshing Smile.

Lots of costume changes! Jonathan's got to be careful then Wink

I wonder if it's the reason P/boro was cancelled Sad too small, and no orchestra pit. Orchestra wiill have to occupy the first 3 rows on the same level as the audience (as I went to see La Boheme there last week) and the standing conductor will get in our way Sad

I hope they figured out the space they need (nor more canx) and get the best balanced sound (no excessive use of amps, please) .
